Galaxy Dress!

GALAXY DRESS!
Best wearing apparel inwards all of fourth dimension together with space!
Okay, non specifically Doctor Who...but totally Sci-Fi!

Okay, I don't profess to live a model...but I absolutely honey this dress!
Nor does my 10 yr quondam profess to live a photographer!
So...go slow on me--we had hence much fun!

This wearing apparel is fun!
I e'er have on black. I only similar black. I have on all dark nearly daily.
I convey lots of dark dresses.
I am e'er funeral wearing apparel appropriate.
I honey this dress...it's generally black...but has approximately vibrant colors too!
I used Tulip One Step Dye!

It's slow to role together with holds color actually well!

I started amongst this thrifted dress.
I liked it together with wore it several times...but...I bought it used and
it had approximately bleach spots on the bottom border when I got it...see them?
No big bargain now...I lay the wearing apparel on the dorsum patio.

And armed myself amongst a spray bottle of bleach!
It was diluted one-half together with one-half amongst water.
I sprayed strategically inwards a diagonal trace of piece of job downward the dress.

I did a shirt too!

Complete amongst pigment spots!

Instantly the wearing apparel bleached!
Turning a horrifying shade of coral!!!
Then I turned the wearing apparel over together with bleached the backside.
It doesn't bleed through that much...fyi.

After nigh fifteen minutes I rinsed together with washed the bleach out of the dress.

But didn't dry out it!
Next I got out Navy Blue, Fuscia together with Pink Tulip Tie Dye!
Tulip ane mensuration dyes are perfect together with hence slow to use!

Look out bleached out the wearing apparel is!
It was seriously scary! I was certain I ruined it for good!

Just lay out plastic on your table...then a cooling rack.
Then the damp clothing...
Then I dropped together with swirled dye all over the dress.

When I was done it looked similar this!
Super stellar vibrant!
Remember dye volition lighten when washed.
Okay, particularly if the stuff is non 100% cotton.
This wearing apparel was 95% cotton fiber together with 5% spandex.
So I knew it would lighten quite a bit!
I left it nether the covered patio all night.

Then rinsed it inwards the sink until the H2O ran clear together with then
washed together with dried it.

All dry!
See how much lighter it looks?
It's hence cool...nebula together with outer spiral arms!

And the shirt!
Just similar this they are amazing together with wonderful!
Totally a slap-up agency to upcycle whatever bleached or painted clothes!

But let's become a mensuration farther amongst paint!

I used lots of acrylic pigment together with cloth medium.
Fabric Medium is nice...you mix it inwards amongst whatever pigment together with it keeps it
soft on the cloth instead of getting all strong together with cracky.

Start past times sticking approximately cardboard (like a apartment charge per unit of measurement box from USPS)
within the shirt or dress. This agency the pigment wont bleed onto the back.
I also cutting diverse sizes of circles out of vinyl.
Saved the circles for after together with used the outlines equally a stencil.

Just cutis together with stick them correct to the fabric...

Then I used pigment together with a stencil stipple brush to dab on paint.

In unlike shades to proceed them ombre together with planetary looking!

It's withal generally dark but amongst approximately interstellar flare!

I didn't bother doing whatever planets on the backside...

Because my pilus nearly covers all of it!

It only needs a footling TARDIS painted on at that topographic point somewhere!

I honey how it turned out!
It makes me desire to plow all my dark clothes into galaxies!
(wouldn't that live weird?...the daughter who solely wears galaxy clothes!)
