java stirrer straws

wire

pliers

spray pigment (optional)

wax or stain (optional)

I got a bottle light kit...but in addition to thence decided I wanted a trace chain 

low-cal instead, thence I got a trace chain thing.

I role my novel drill in addition to some drill bits.

I drilled inwards the centre of the top of the wood...but non all the means through the bottom.

I used pliers to tighten it completely.

Screwed the bottom of the unit of measurement onto the screw thing.

Then tied the underwriters knot...

noting the ribbed coated wire in addition to the smoothen coated wire

 Now to attach the wires:

The silvery screw gets the ribbed wire, in addition to the smoothen wire gets the golden screw.

Just curlicue the wire inwards a hook, loosen the screw in addition to sideslip it around it earlier tightening it down.

Then I tightened the underwriters knot correct nether the socket thence it

Great similar this...but I idea a fun shade was inwards order!

I did a Himmeli Geometric shade using java stirrer straws

 and sparse guess floral wire.

(Himmeli are Finnish mobiles traditionally made of rye straw)

This i is truly made of plastic straw in addition to non a mobile...meh, whatever.

It's a geometric icosahedron shade.

I began yesteryear cutting my straws inwards half...3 1/2 inches.

Works non bad to role a rotary cutter.

 I unwrapped a length of wire...about a yard or meter.

Then I threaded on three straw sections...twisted the wires to brand a triangle,

in addition to thence added two to a greater extent than in addition to twisted on the other side to brand a double triangle/diamond.

Then add together two more...twist in addition to add together two more...etc.

 Until you lot brand a triforce!

Then essentially every junction of straws is a laid upward of five straws.

It takes a footling practice, but comes together pretty naturally.

But it's pretty fun too!
