Diy Solar Ability Vintage Arrow Low-Cal Upward Marquee!

This was a super fun projection to create alongside my

I wanted to create a marquee sign for a long time...
but didn't desire a sign I had to plug in...find wall infinite for...
or bargain alongside cords as well as plugs.
Then I discovered Solar Power lights! Yay!

So that was my solely toll inwards this project, close $20.
You could purpose Christmas lights...or other string lights.

We started alongside a combat slice of plywood nosotros flora on the street.
It was close a human foot as well as a one-half tall as well as four feet wide...

I used about kraft newspaper as well as cutting it to gibe the board...

I folded it inwards one-half as well as and hence sketched out my pattern.
I cutting it piece it was folded hence it would live symmetrical!

Then traced the arrow blueprint onto the board.

Then my boy used the dremel as well as nosotros began cutting it out...

The dremel wasn't cutting it good enough...or similar a shot enough
so nosotros switched as well as cutting it alongside the tablesaw!
(note: jigsaw is at nowadays on my list)

Then nosotros sanded all the stone oil edges...

Marked where nosotros wanted each lite to go

Got a drill flake large plenty to gibe the light-green part, but non the bulb cover.

And drilled 29 holes!
(yes, i of our lights is hidden...so the solar panel would sit down inwards a higher house the sign)

Sanded it all polish as well as fix it out to spray paint!

Comic Book RED of course!

After it dried...we roughed upwards the edges a bit...

and went over them alongside stain

Took all the bulb covers off the lights,

and stapled the lights on the backside of the wood.

Then attached the bulb coverings--I honey that they are plastic!

Screwed on about screw eyes as well as wire for hanging!

And, then, if I had a darling front end porch...this would live the perfect footling addition.
But our porch is pocket-size as well as ugly, hence it's going on the dorsum fence!
