Tumbled Polished Rocks!

This was a mini written report unit of measurement nosotros did for homeschool.
Geology!
We discussed the types of rocks in addition to how they are
formed in addition to and then nosotros went on the hunt for rocks.

I had a stone tumbler before...but it didn't brand the i of the moves at unopen to point...
in addition to I've wanted unopen to other for a while!  I dear Rocks!
So I ordered this i from Harbor Freight when I had a discount coupon...
in addition to it's a dual prophylactic drum...which way twice the fun.

You tin detect cheaper tumblers...but if they are difficult plastic,
they volition live much louder.
(the tumbling is constant...day in addition to night!)
Just a heads up.
So my boy filled i tumbler, immature lady filled the other...

 We filled them up...

 Added our pace 1 course of education grit stuff...
All the instructions come upwards amongst the machine.  I ordered all the grit on ebay...
It takes several weeks for the kickoff duo of steps...then
a duo weeks for each of the remaining steps...so it takes unopen to dedication.
Well worth it inwards the minds of my picayune tweens!

The tumbling tin live loud in addition to obnoxious, thus I recommend the garage.

About 2-3 weeks each for the kickoff ii phases...
in addition to close ii weeks for the final ii phases...lots of patience...

So cool.  They loved seeing the progression through each phase.
It took a long time...but it was a breeze compared
 to the natural process.
We're planning on doing unopen to fun things amongst them too!
